Before the treatment
Your skin expert analyses your skin and hair type and determines the right laser protocol. Shave your underarms about 24 hours beforehand and do not use deodorant on the day of treatment.

During the treatment
The underarms are cleansed and then treated with protective goggles and integrated cooling. Most clients feel the pulses as warm with a slight tingling.

Slight redness for a few hours is normal. You can use deodorant again after about 24 hours, starting with a mild, alcohol-free one.

Questions about underarm laser hair removal
Does health insurance cover the cost of laser hair removal?
No. In Austria, hair removal for aesthetic reasons is a private service; neither the ÖGK nor any of the other health insurance funds cover the costs. A contribution is only possible in rare cases with a medical indication and must be assessed by a doctor.
How many sessions do I need for underarm laser hair removal?
As a rule, 6 to 10 sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart. Laser light only reaches hairs in the active growth phase, and the follicles are never all in this phase at the same time. We create your personal treatment plan after the skin analysis.
Is underarm laser hair removal permanent?
It leads to a permanent reduction in hair growth, not to being completely hair-free forever. Hormonal changes can reactivate individual hairs, which is why occasional top-up sessions make sense. A review by the Cochrane Collaboration (Haedersdal and Gøtzsche, 2006) also shows a clear reduction in hair count over several months, including with diode lasers – but it does not prove that the hair stays away for life.
May I use deodorant on the day of treatment?
No, the skin must be clean and free of grease for the treatment. On the day of treatment, avoid deodorant, antiperspirant and lipid-replenishing skincare. After about 24 hours you can use a mild, alcohol-free deodorant again.
Can I shave between sessions?
Yes, shaving between appointments is expressly encouraged. Waxing, plucking and epilating are not allowed, because they remove the hair root as well and the laser can no longer reach it at the next appointment.
