HydraFacial combines cleansing and exfoliation with vacuum-assisted extraction to remove sebum, dead skin cells and build-up. Whether the method is suitable, however, must be assessed based on the current condition of the skin.
A 2022 study published in the Journal of Clinical and Aesthetic Dermatology examined 20 adults with mild to moderate acne over a period of twelve weeks. Participants received six HydraFacial Clarifying treatments at two-week intervals. At the end of the treatment series, an improvement in the overall appearance of the skin was observed, and the treatments were generally well tolerated. However, because of the small sample size and the open-label, non-blinded study design, the results should be interpreted with caution.
