What is Mosaic 3D Laser, and how can it improve the skin?
Mosaic 3D is a non-ablative fractional laser from Cynosure Lutronic with a wavelength of 1550 nanometres. The technology delivers controlled micro-fine laser pulses into the skin and can thereby stimulate the body’s own production of collagen and elastin without removing the uppermost layer of the skin.

Micro-fine laser pulses can stimulate the skin’s renewal processes and support a smoother, more even complexion.
The 1550 nm laser energy works in deeper layers of the skin and stimulates the formation of new collagen and elastin.
Because Mosaic 3D works non-ablatively, the skin surface remains largely intact. Redness, warmth and mild swelling can occur after treatment and usually subside within about 1–3 days.
The intensity, treatment area and number of sessions are determined based on your skin and desired results.
Before the Treatment
Before your Mosaic 3D treatment, we analyse your skin condition and discuss your treatment goals. We also assess whether the method is suitable for your skin and which intensity is appropriate. Recent intense tanning and severely irritated or inflamed skin may be reasons to postpone treatment.
During the Treatment
Mosaic 3D delivers thousands of controlled microbeams into the skin. The 3D Controlled Chaos Technology distributes the energy specifically across different areas and depths of the skin. Cooled sapphire tips and integrated air cooling are designed to reduce heat and uncomfortable sensations during treatment.
After the Treatment
Immediately after treatment, the skin may feel warm and appear red or slightly swollen. These reactions usually subside within approximately one to three days. High-factor sun protection and gentle skincare are particularly important during this period.

Objective image analysis showed, among other findings, a statistically significant improvement in wrinkles, while participants also reported improvements in skin smoothness, clarity and radiance. As this was a small retrospective study, further larger studies are required.

Initial changes in skin texture may become visible after approximately two to four weeks. Because the treatment stimulates the body’s own collagen production, the results develop gradually and may continue to improve over approximately three months. With a treatment series, each session builds on the regeneration process initiated by the previous one.
The treatment is usually experienced as a warm tingling or an intense sensation of heat. Mosaic 3D uses integrated air cooling and cooled sapphire tips designed to reduce the sensation of heat during treatment. How intense the treatment feels depends on the treated area and your individual sensitivity.
An ablative CO2 laser removes controlled portions of the uppermost layer of the skin and is therefore associated with a significantly longer healing period. Mosaic 3D, in contrast, works non-ablatively and delivers fractional laser pulses beneath the largely intact skin surface. As a result, downtime is generally shorter, while skin renewal develops gradually.
The three technologies treat different layers of the skin. LaseMD uses a wavelength of 1927 nm and works more superficially, making it suitable, for example, for pigmentation and a more even complexion. Morpheus8 combines microneedling with radiofrequency and focuses more strongly on skin tightening and deeper tissue remodelling.
